COMPETITIONS
Development of integrated personality of child remains incomplete without cultivating appreciation of fine arts. A balanced growth of body and mind is ensured. Competitions at Inter-School, Inter-Class, Inter-House, Zonal and National level are held regularly to give opportunity to the children to develop their innate potential as well as gain self confidence.
THE HOUSE SYSTEM
The school is divided into six houses; Equality, Amity, Freedom, Progress, Peace and Unity from the primary level. Each house has a Housemistress and an associate Housemistress. The main idea of the House System is to provide training in qualities of leadership, co-operation, mutual understanding and self reliance. Inter-House Competitions are organised for dramatics, elocution, quiz, recitation, debates, group songs, dance and other activities and the meritorious children are honoured.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience activities form an inseparable part of the school curriculum. Children enthusiastically participate in activities like Art & Painting, Best out of Waste, Origami and Meal Planning.
SOCIAL WELFARE-COMMUNITY SERVICE
To foster qualities of compassion, selfless service and charity, periodical visits are organised to orphanages and old age homes.
PREFECTORIAL BOARD
A prefectorial board has been constituted at the Primary and Secondary level to shoulder the responsibility of running the school administration. The Head Boy and the Head Girl along with other appointments, at each stage help in the maintenance of school discipline and in organising various school programmes and activities.
GREEN DELHI CLEAN DELHI WEEK
The school celebrated Green Delhi Clean Delhi Week on February 6, 2010, encompassing many activities such as Flower Show, Ready to Clean Classrooms, Sapling Plantation and Nature Trails.
ADAPTATION WEEK
To welcome the twinkling stars of Pre- School, a zestful and enjoyable Adaptation Week was organized from March 30 to April 5, 2010. Cake cutting by new Bal Bharatians marked the ‘Welcome Party’ which was followed by the ‘BINGO DANCE PARTY’ and ‘CLOWN PARTY’. Various activities aimed at helping pupils adapt and acclimatize to their new surroundings like Rhyme Time, Puppet Show, Magic Show etc were held and ended with much aplomb when a Day Camp was organized
FRUIT WEEK
To encourage healthy eating habits among children Fruit Week was organized from April 19 to 23, 2010. Various activities such as puppet show, fancy dress etc were conducted
SAFETY WEEK
For the familiarization of students to safety measures, the school initiated Safety Week from May 4 to 7, 2010. A plethora of educative and thoughtful activities were conducted like First Aid Day, Road Safety Day, School Safety Day and Safety at Home Day
COLOUR WEEK
Colour Week was conducted for Pre-School and Pre-Primary consisting of activities such as hand printing, tearing, pasting etc
HEALTH IS WEALTH WEEK
To gain objective of acknowledging the benefits of good health, Health is Wealth week was organized for Pre-School and Pre-Primary
ECO WEEK
In its endeavour to forge life long bonds with Mother Nature and take proactive steps for a worldwide concern, the school celebrated Eco-Week from July 20 to 24, 2009. Several activities were meticulously planned to sensitize children towards the issue of environmental degradation and join hands to usher in a new era marked with a broad commitment to preserve mother earth. Activities such as plantation drives, poster making, placard making, mask making, trashion show etc. were conducted. Several pieces of arts were also displayed to motivate children in their earnest effort
JAPAN WEEK
JAPAN WEEK was organized from August 6 to 10, 2009. The event was graced by the Ms. Kyoko Suzuki and Ms. Tomoyo Shibahara, Japanese Language Advisors, Japan Foundation, New Delhi. Various activities and workshops were held for the students of class II to X during the week such as special assembly on Hiroshima Nagasaki day, Preparation of Japanese’s recipe Tofu Salad, Exhibition on Japan, workshop on origami, Ikebana and calligraphy
FRENCH WEEK
The school celebrated FRENCH WEEK with great enthusiasm from August 17 to 21, 2009. Various activities were held such as French exhibition, French Radio Show, French quiz, picturesque Comic Strip making competition, Photo Album making and an exclusive French assembly
AQUA WEEK
The school organized AQUA WEEK for Pre-School and Pre-Primary students from September 8 to 12, 2009, to bring home the importance of conservation of water and to make the students understand the need to save water and use it judiciously. Various activities were conducted such as classroom demonstration, colouring activity, cotton impression, fun with crayons, aqua rally etc
BOOK WEEK
Book Week, which is an integral part of the time-table, encourages learning beyond text books. Competitions such as Book Discussion, Literary Quiz, Symposium etc. earmark the Book Week.
The school celebrated Book week from September 14 to 18, 2009 to inculcate a habit of reading in its children and to ignite their young minds. The school bustled with exemplary fervor and excitement as the children indulged in a series of well planned activities such as Character Dramatization, Quizzes, Story- telling, Magic tricks and Maths Skit which opened new doors to learning while having fun. From Hindi Day to Science Day to Maths Day, the series of activities packed quite a punch and added a generous dash of creativity, fun and frolic to the classroom. The students of classes I to IX donned several hats as scientists, Literary personas, historical personalities and budding poets.
NIE & PACE PROGRAMME
'The Times of India' and 'The Hindustan Times' projects have been introduced to encourage students to read newspapers critically and make them aware of the social, economic and political events taking place in the country and around the world. Various workshops are conducted to train the students in various disciplines.
