GRADUATION DAY
Graduation Day for the Montessori was celebrated on March 30, 2013, to bid adieu to the tiny toddlers from Montessori wing. The breathtaking and grand performances befitted the celebrations to mark their progression to primary wing. The magnificent programme commenced with the Chief Guest Dr UB N Rao and the school Principal, Ms Suruchi Gandhi lighting the lamp.The array of cultural programmes comprising Ganesh stuti, story dramatization, graduation day song and a special dance performance ‘Flavours of India’ held the audience spellbound. The young scholars were presented graduation certificates.

ORIENTATION DAY
Orientation Day was held on March 31, 2013, to acquaint the parents of Montessori students with the school and to extend them a warm welcome into the Bal Bharati family. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by an immensely invigorating welcome address by the Principal. The enigmatic invocation dance left the audience spell-bound. Dr Ravindran, the eminent educational psychologist, was the special guest for the occasion. Dr Ravindran conducted an enriching and informative interactive session with the parents that enlightened them about positive parenting and the mutual responsibility parents and schools share in moulding the best out of young children.

The school celebrated its 15th Annual Day with grandeur extraordinaire. An impressive guard of honour by Student Council members and school band welcomed the dignitaries; the Chief Guest, Shri T K Vishwanathan, General Secretary, Lok Sabha and the Guest of Honour, Ms Reena Pandey, Former Ambassador, Armenia and Georgia. The exhibition ‘Genesis of the Genius’ chronicled the saga of people who believed in their convictions. The ballet ‘Udaan’, a theatrical extravaganza which reiterated the power of conviction, impressed the audience with outstanding histrionics. The Montessori ballet ‘Sugarland’ was a feast to the eyes. The Annual Report chronicled achievements of the school which was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. The resplendent colourful costumes of the Primary ballet ‘Fantasia’ stole the show with their appealing colours and theme which was appreciated by all.

Winter Carnival
The school organised a jubilant Winter Carnival on December 16, 2012 which was a cauldron of recreation and fun for multitudes who thronged in thousands to rejoice the thrilling rides, delectable fun games and sumptuous food. Interest and excitement of toddlers and their parents was at peak with the baby show that celebrated health and hygiene. The day long festivities and adventures brought out the playful streak among one and all who enjoyed at games stalls, raffle and pulsating DJ.

2nd INVESTITURE CEREMONY
The legacy of the Interact Club was bequeathed to the new board of members in the Investiture Ceremony held on October 18, 2012. The new members were invested with new roles and responsibilities who pledged to carry on the spirit of service above the call of duty.

PALETTE 2012
PALETTE-2012, an inter-school art extravaganza was organised on October 31, 2012. The event provided an opportunity to 400 artists from 19 schools to canvas their art and showcase their talent. Many competitions like folder designing, chandelier making, canvas painting, pot designing and plate designing provided platform for creative expression.

RENDEZVOUS 2012
Rendezvous 2012, an Inter-School Competition was held on November 22, 2012. The competition epitomised Global Connect Day wherein the confluence of three languages- English, French and German was highlighted in which best schools of Delhi participated who are at the forefront of giving international edge to their students. The event exhibited multilingual eloquence of participants in dramatization, conjuring appealing advertisements, cartoon script making and book cover designing.

QUEST’ITALIA 2012
Quest’ Italia 2012- a quiz competition based on Italy was held at Shri Satya Sai Auditorium, Lodi Road, New Delhi on December 14, 2012. The questions varied from Italian food to other important aspects like custom, tradition, fine arts, literature, architecture, design, cinema, fashion, business and much more in which our students participated enthusiastically.

INDO-GERMAN URBAN MELA
Indo-German Urban Mela was a prodigious platform primarily for the learners of German language. Our school students participated in various events and competitions held at Indraprastha Park on October 30, 2012 which gave them a taste of German culture.

PEARLY TROVE TRACK
Jewellery designing is a great fun exercise for little learners. To turn this craft into an entertaining and educational game and to enhance the creativity and imagination of our children, a fun filled field activity ‘Pearly Trove Track’ was organised on October 19, 2012. Our young students had a memorable experience making bracelets and necklaces with beads placed on track.

OLITTLE FINGERS AT WORK
To tickle the five senses of the little ones, the activity ‘Five fingers at work’ was organized on April 20, 2012. The children were taken to the sensorial garden to enjoy the beauty of flowers, plants in the bounty of nature where children did clay modelling followed by rhyme recitation and finger printing with their little hands.

KNOW THY SCHOOL
In order to create a feeling of belongingness in each child’s mind, the activity ‘Know Thy School’ was organised on April 26, 2012 for students of Montessori-I. The tiny tots paid a visit to the library, science laboratories, medical room, etc. A refreshing musical symphony – ‘The school song’ and a colouring activity was done by children echoing “I am proud to be a Bal Bharatian”.

TECHQUEST – INTER SCHOOL EVENT
In an endeavor to provide to the inquisitive and brilliant minds, a platform to nurture and showcase their technological prowess, the school organized Tech-Quest on 7th May, 2013, in which more than 100 students from 17 schools participated. The school Principal accompanied by the judges lit the ceremonial lamp of knowledge. It was a grand celebration of novelty and ingenuity as the budding enthusiasts and aspiring scientists commemorated technological breakthroughs through participation in Events as Let’s C, Lights, Camera, Action, Robotics and a quiz based on IT. The overall trophy was accorded to Mt. Carmel School, Dwarka. The awards earned by the vanquishers were a testimony of their concerted efforts and significant achievements. The judges appreciated the school initiative and reiterated that the event opened novel vistas of tech- learning.

REMINISCENCE 2012
Old Bal Bharatians’ Association (OBBA) organized a reunion of the school alumni ‘Reminiscence 2012’ on June 29, 2012 to initiate a tradition of regular interaction with the outgoing batch of the school.

HOP TO THE CARROT
Sports and games generate unlimited fun and joy and bring out the best in human spirit. To have a fun-filled day and develop virtues such as sportsmanship and persistence, a fun game ‘Hop to the Carrot’ was organised on May 4, 2012. Our little darlings were dressed up like adorable rabbits who ran enthusiastically on the track holding beautiful carrots. They also enjoyed homemade carrot delicacies during lunch break.

MOCK EVACUATION DRILL – DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
A fire drill was conducted in association with local fire department to make students aware about the protocol to be followed in case of a fire break out.
A workshop was held for the students to deliberate upon major possible causes behind a fire breakout. This was followed by an instant quiz and question answer session for ensuring proper understanding amongst the students. Demonstrations regarding fire, precautions, safety, dos and don’ts. Duties and roles of volunteers, who were supposed to act as floor wardens, rescue team, fire extinguish team and first aid team during the Mock Evacuation Drill.

ENLIGHTENMENT SERIES LECTURES- TRYST WITH BIOLOGY
On July 17, 2012, school organized the first lecture in its series of Enlightenment Lectures in collaboration with GENETICS CONGRESS TRUST on biology, biogenetics and biotechnology. The Lecture was delivered by Dr. Arun Jagannath- Associate Professor Dept. of Botany, Delhi University, and Dr. SR Bhatt--executive trustee, Genomic Congress trust. The aim of the workshop was to break the stereotype about biology in the minds of children.

INTER SCHOOL ROBOTICS CHALLENGE(IRC 2013)
A grand celebration of innovation and ingenuity was witnessed during the Inter-school Robotics Challenge 2013 which was organised in association with Building Blocks Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd. on January 24, 2013. Over 28 teams from 14 schools of West Delhi participated in the event where students got an opportunity to create unique Robotic designs. The event presented a creative amalgamation of Science and Mathematics and its practical application in Robotics.

A Sports Camp is being organized for students of Primary to train them in Badminton, Cricket, Football, Table-Tennis and Basketball from March 12 to 30, 2012.

CREATIVE ARTS CAMP
A Creative Arts Camp is being organized for students which includes Indian Classical Music Workshop for Sitar, Violin, Tabla and Vocal Music and performance by Taiwanese instrumentalist, Ms Sun-shih-yi. The workshop for violin is being conducted by Prof Ranjan Srivastava from March 19 to 23, 2012, who has been honoured by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr Nitish Kumar and is well known artist for A.I.R. and Doordarshan Kendra. This workshop would create a deeper appreciation among students about the various nuances of classical music.

TEACHERS’ DAY
Teachers’ Day is that momentous event where students engage in unbridled capacity to shower their love, adoration and respect on their teachers. The day was power packed with sensational performances by the students. With respect and reverence, the students had the teachers moving on to foot tapping dance they presented.  The students’ programme paved way to reliving a momentous journey – a success saga of prominent accomplishments crafted with subtlety, care and love by the School Principal.

YOUTH EXCHANGE FOR NATIONAL INTEGRATION 
The school hosted a student delegation from the frontier districts of Baramula and Kupwara of Jammu & Kashmir on February 12, 2013.They were given a heart-warming reception by our students who welcomed them by tying friendship-bands. Initial hesitation gave way to warm smiles as students were spell bound by graceful classical dance and soulful instrumental music rendition. The students from Kashmir presented Kashmiri folk songs, poem and PowerPoint Presentation to acquaint the audience with the culture of their school. The session culminated with joyous chorus of “Saare Jahan Se Achha” and exchange of handcrafted mementos.

EDUCATION WITH A PURPOSE 
Dr Kiran Bedi addressed the school students and teachers in a highly charged and stimulating environment on the topic of ‘Analysing the role of school and home in combating and preventing crime’ on February 7, 2013. In her speech, which was replete with inspirational anecdotes, she urged students and teachers to take responsibility and demonstrate personal leadership in character building by feeding intellect and mind with positive thoughts, inspirational books and good company. She reposed faith in the efforts of the school towards character building which is an essential prerequisite for nation building.

SPIC MACAY 
With an aim to promote the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry of our country, renowned Manipuri artists Shri Rajkumar Singhajit Singh and Smt. Charu Sija Mathur graced the school on February 6, 2013 and regaled the young audiences with the most spectacular dance performances. They introduced subtle nuances of Manipuri Dance which is known for its graceful movements and its strong narrative and dramatic character.

FAREWELL CEREMONY 
To bid adieu to the outgoing Class XII students, a Farewell Ceremony was organised on February 5, 2013. The ceremony commenced on an auspicious note with ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the school Principal. A breathtaking cultural programme presented by Class XI included ‘The women in action’, a dance drama which was a befitting toast to convictions and pride of today’s woman. It was a momentous occasion for students who received their citations highlighting their talents and achievements. The office bearers of Old Bal Bharatian Association from outgoing Class XII were invested with portfolios. A sumptuous lunch and dance party that ensued, left everyone enthralled.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS 
The school hosted its second Model United Nations on January 30, 2013. The event provided delegates an insight into the major issues faced by today’s world. The students of class X formed four major committees of United Nations namely ECOSOC, HRC, WTO and UNESCO representing 26 countries of the world. The BBPSMUN not only encouraged the students to research but also helped in honing their public speaking and decision making skills. Awards were given to Best Delegates in every committee and for presenting Best Position Paper. The judges appreciated their in-depth knowledge about world affairs and their ability to resolve conflict in democratic manner.

FASHION SHOW ON HEALTHY FOODS
The school organised a Fashion Show for class I on October 8, 2012. Students dressed themselves representing different healthy foods and walked the ramp. The fashion show encouraged them to eat healthy food.

FUN-O-MANIA 
‘Fun-O-Mania’ was organised for classes I-V on February 4, 2013. The day began with an exhilarating Band performance which was followed by Horse Riding, Taekwondo and Yoga training session. The highlights were colourful races such as Cartoon Race, Sack Race, Caterpillar Traverse Race, Potato In The Basket Race and Unity In Diversity Race.
