CLUB ACTIVITIES

In order to widen the experiential horizons of the students and to fan their creativity, the school encourages number of club activities. Each student is provided with gamut of options to choose from – Good Living Club, Literary Club, Technology Club, Sudoko Club, Young Reporters' Club, G. K. Club, Art Club, Mother Earth Club, Community Outreach Club, Space Club and Astronomy Club. These clubs provide an organised, well planned and enjoyable space to our students to keep nurturing and polishing their interests and skills. 
EK KADAM SWACHHTA KI AUR
News and Broadcasting Club made a movie on sanitation for all, titled “Ek Kadam Swachhta ki aur” for Vigyan Prasar. It has been shortlisted for screening at 6th National Science Film Festival, scheduled from 9 to 13 February, 2016. The script writer Rachit Bansal (IX C) will represent the school in Mumbai.
NEWS AND BROADCASTING CLUB DAY
During News and Broadcasting Club Day students were engaged in: Creating a news feature on ‘Teachers as Nation Builders’, Movie show ‘Water Woes – a news story’ on issues related to water., News Reading and Broadcasting session.
MISSION SEARCH SPARROWS
In order to take positive action to retard fast dwindling population of sparrows in the city, the Eco-Warriors Club of the school has launched mission – SEARCH SPARROWS. It is a yearlong project which includes following activities:

ALL-INDIA ANIMAL ACTION EDUCATION PAINTING CONTEST
Kashish Gakhar ( XI B ) won the second prize and was awarded cash prize of Rs.3000/-and a T-shirt for her creative expression of compassion and respect for nature and animals in the All-India Animal Action Education Painting Contest organized by International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)-Wildlife Trust of India.
MEDICINAL PLANT GARDEN IN SCHOOL
To counter the rising pollution levels in the environment the school has registered for a national level program “Developing medicinal plant gardens at schools”. The school children will plant herbal and medicinal plants provided by the government within the school premises and participate in the related activities.
SIGNATURE DESK FOR EARTH HOUR
To create awareness among students regarding Earth Hour, a signature desk was set up in the school premises on March 2, 2016 by the volunteers of WWF- India. Eco Club members motivated students to turn off their lights for one hour (8: 30 – 9:30pm) on 22 Apr 2016.
PRECIOUS WASTE
Students of eco club made ‘Precious Waste’ Collages to reiterate the value of three ‘R’s, i.e. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB DAY
During ‘French Language Club Day’ held on 26th August, 2014 participants engaged in interesting and innovative activities such as Peer teaching, French songs, French comics, Young writers, French story tellers and Role play.
FACE TO FAITH CLUB
TALK BACK TO HATE - MULTIPOINT VIDEO CONFERENCE WITH PAKISTAN AND INDIAN SCHOOLS
Face to Faith club members interacted with peers in Pakistan to raise the pertinent issue of ‘Talk back to hate’ where they discussed how irresponsible hate speech affects millions across the border.
ART OF EXPRESSION VIDEO CONFERENCE WITH INDONESIA
Students of Face to Faith club participated in a Video Conference with SMP Islam Amalina School, Indonesia and Gurukul – the School, India. Christopher Muscat, Face to Faith Facilitator moderated discussion about brotherhood, kindness and peace. Students shared their feelings and beliefs about freedom of expression and speech.
FACE TO FAITH CLUB DAY
Face to faith club day was organised to engage students in Video Conference, Team Blogging and Display Board making on the topic of Faith and Compassion. Schools involved in the VC were: Holy Cross College of Calinan, Philippines, Govt. Girls Meera Pilot High School, Heerabad, Pakistan, Chettinad Rani Meyyammai Matriculation School, Puliyur, Tamilnadu.
The Face to Faith Club celebrated Religious Diversity Day in which students participated in the following activities:
  • Together we pray-An Interfaith Prayer for peace
  • Messenger of God-Group discussion on Holy books of different religions and values enshrined in them
  • Art and Religion-Students prepared poster on religious festivals
TECHNOLOGY CLUB DAY-CYBERNETICS
Technology Club Day- CYBERNETICS was celebrated on April 30, 2014. The day witnessed enthused participation of students in various competitions like E-newsletter Designing, Gaming Challenge and Computer Game Designing. The events provided an exciting learning platform to the students to apply classroom learning and create their own e-newsletters and computer games.
STORY WEAVER CLUB DAY
During Story weaver club day organized on January 22, 2014, children narrated interested stories using with finger puppets, stuffed toys, which helped them overcome inhibitions and develop self confidence.
ROBOTICS CLUB DAY
ROBOTICS WORKSHOP
Level-I students were made familiar with concepts of motion. They performed the task of making a four wheel base car. Level-2 students performed the task of designing and moving the robot in square motion. Level-3 students learnt to move the robot in square motion and use the LCD display.
GOOD LIVING CLUB DAY
To inculcate the habit of recycling waste material, Good Living Club Day was celebrated on April 17, 2013. Children prepared Fruity Table Mat and Vegetable Table Mat using recyclable material.
RANGOMETRY CLUB DAY
Rangometry Club Day was organised on May 3, 2013 to introduce Geometric concepts in a colourful manner. Activities like Book Mark Making (with shapes), Card Making (with compass designing) and Rangoli Making (with shapes) were organised.
HEADLINES TODAY CLUB DAY
Information is the oxygen of the modern age. The Headlines Today Club Day was celebrated on February 11, 2013 by the students of Class III. Students created a Newspaper named, ‘A Fresh Look’ which included hand-written, illustrated articles, reports on environmental issues, brain teasers, cartoon strips, articles on Delhi, its monuments, sports and tips on developing a healthy lifestyle.
NATURE CLUB
CONSERVE MY PLANET PROGRAM-
The school won CMP School Champion Trophy 2015 for its valiant efforts towards educating young minds about energy conservation. The program was conducted in collaboration with Schneider Electric and SHARP NGO in which 100 students were inducted as Green Cops.
KIDS FOR TIGERS FEST 2015
Nature Club members participated in the Kids for Tigers Annual Fest held at Shri Ram Aravali School, Gurgoan in which 1500 children from about 40 schools participated.
ECO RALLY – ‘WALK FOR AIR, SAY NO TO CRACKERS’
Eco Rally – ‘Walk for air, say no to crackers’ was organized by Nature Club members. Students carried slogans and banners to promote the cause.

45 students of Nature Club participated in a massive GREEN DRIVE organized by The Times of India in association with Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Centre for Environmental Management of Degraded Ecosystems (CEMD).

TREE SURVEY AT SCHOOL
Nature club members conducted a tree census in the school and documented numbers and location of 14 varieties of 261 trees in the school campus.
5TH GLOBAL TIGER DAY
Nature Club members participated in 5th Annual Global Tiger Day organised in collaboration with Kids For Tiger. This event was graced by eminent environmentalist Mr. Bitto Sehgal and famous actress Diya Mirza.
CONSERVE MY PLANET PROGRAM
Conserve my Planet is an environmental awareness program conducted in collaboration with Schneider Electric and SHARP NGO. 100 green ambassadors were inducted in the program as Green Cops and were given green kits. The green cops pledged to bring down their home electricity bill through constant vigil against wastage.
EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS - THE CLIMATE REALITY PROJECT, INDIA
The Nature Club members participated in Tree Plantation organized by The Climate Reality Project (India) and Earth Day Network at Nehru Place Greens on the occasion of Earth Day. The event saw the presence of more than 50 delegates (including Country Ambassadors) representing over 35 countries; leaders from United Nations; to commemorate the signing ceremony of Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
CLEANLINESS DRIVE
To teach the little ones the importance of cleanliness and instill the value of selfless service, students participated in a cleanliness drive in which they worked together to clean their school.
GREEN RALLY
During Green Drive organized on April 24, 2014, children were engaged in keeping their surroundings green. They went for nature walk and planted saplings. They launched an anti plastic campaign and raised slogans against poly bags.
VEGEBABLE PRINTING
Students engage in vegetable printing on May 8, 2014 to creatively design beautiful handkerchiefs.
FUN WITH NUMBERS CLUB DAY
To demystify abstraction and dispel the fear of mathematics among students ‘Fun with Numbers’ Club Day was celebrated on October 9, 2013. In this more stress was given on construction of knowledge through activities. Young learners were involved in activities such as Addition, Tic – Tac – Tac, Puzzle Time, Secrete code riddle, Subtraction Tree, Magic in Numbers, Multiplication Wheel, Sudoku Puzzle.
BOOK CLUB
Book Club organized book browsing session in collaboration with Scholastic Publishers. Following activities were organized:

Prizes were awarded to good readers in every class.
MAX MUELLER CLUB
In the present scenario learning a foreign language has become the need of the hour. The knowledge of language helps in binding various nations together in a culturally diverse world. The Max Mueller Club gave the members an insight into the German Culture and encouraged them to prepare German Club Folders in which they gathered information about various aspects of German Culture and heritage collected through books, videos and personal interaction.
THE LITTLE SCIENTIST CLUB DAY
The ‘Little Scientist Club Day’ was organized on November 20, 2013 for classes – III,IV and V. Different activities were planned for each class . Class III prepared pencil spinner. Class IV prepared balloon car and class V prepared the model of respiratory system. All the children took part and enjoyed the activities.
SPACE CLUB DAY
Space Club Day was organized in collaboration with SPACE organization where students were engaged in creative activities.
  • HYDRO ROCKETRY-Students learnt to design, construct and launch simple Hydro Rockets

  • Global Star Chase – Students wore head gear of celestial objects and shared facts about it and participated in star chase
SPACE ANNUAL MEET
At SPACE Annual Meet held at Radisson Blu, Paschim Vihar, Sushain Chugh (X-C) and Pranit Popli (X-C) were felicitated by the Chief Guest Prof. B.K. Tripathi , Acting Director NCERT for their discovery of new asteroids.
SALLY RIDE EARTH KAM:
Students of space club participated in a space mission through the Sally Ride Earth KAM(Earth Knowledge Acquired by Middle school students) project . They studied geographical features, environmental problems, weather ,meteorological changes, glacier recession and coastline changes using tools such as Google Earth. They were fascinated to receive photos specially clicked by ISS (International Space Station) for them.
Supermoon Observation Training Workshop
The Supermoon on 9th 10th and 11th August was the biggest and brightest supermoon of the year which was observed through telescopes by SPACE enthusiasts who were trained on 4th August, 2014.
Mobile Planetarium
A mobile planetarium show was organized to ignite the curiosity about enigma of universe on 20th August, 2014. The 3D experience included a star show followed by interactive session on celestial bodies, constellations, planets, comets.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH CLUB
Teach India, an initiative to teach spoken English to the underprivileged sections of the society has been launched in collaboration with “The Times of India”. An Orientation Session honed the personality traits and social skills of the students willing to undertake social responsibility.

Our students participated in Shantidoot Youth Cycle Yatra inspired by Brahmakumaris on September 13, 2013 in order to create awareness about our rich cultural heritage and respect for regional diversity. The Yatra was flagged off by Shiela Dixit, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi.
LITERARY CLUB DAY
To foster a love for books and literature, the Literary Club Day was organized in which children enthusiastically created display board and collages on Shakespeare and his work. They eagerly answered all queries in the “Quintessentially Yours” Quiz.
INTERACT CLUB
The BBPS Dwarka interact club received commendation and trophy from Dr Subramanium, the district Governor of Rotary International Delhi District, for exemplary work in Community Service.

District Interact Leadership Assembly
Interact Club incharge, attended the District Interact Leadership Assembly (DILA 2015) at Apeejay School, Shekh Sarai, New Delhi and shared active role played by Interact club in community outreach programs.

Invetiture Ceremony
Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Delhi graced the Investiture ceremony of Interact Club and released the Annual Interact News letter. The outgoing secretary of the Interact Club, Rishabh Munjal presented the Annual report. The newly inducted members were invested with Badges of honour and took ‘4 way pledge’ of Service above Self.

Walk For Life
Interact club members participated in Walk for Life organized by Rotary International. The walk was flagged off by Mrs Sangeeta Jaitley, wife of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Congress politician Priya Dutt motivated the participants to walk and show solidarity with cancer patients.

National Immunisation Day(NID)
Our Interactors and Delegates from Rotary International UK participated in the National Immunisation Day Rotary drive and administered Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) drops to children under 5 years of age at polio booth.

Polio Rally
The Interactors participated in the ‘KEEP INDIA POLIO FREE – Rally’ in the JJ Cluster near Maharaja Agarsain Public School, Ashok Vihar. The event witnessed the participation of over 250 Rotarians from U.K., Ireland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Japan, USA etc.

Blanket Donation Drive
Interact Club members collected blankets and donated them to workers in the school as a mark of solidarity with them.

The WinS Program
The BBPS Dwarka Interactors spearheaded The WinS (Wash in Schools) Programme to propagate the importance of hygiene and sanitation in schools. The event was inaugurated by Mr Juleo Sorjus, Trustee, Rotary International Spain. Wash basins were installed in MCD schools and training was given for proper handwashing.

Painting Competition
Interactor Kritika Bora (X D) won the consolation prize in Rotary Painting Competition in which 3000 participants from all over Delhi participated in four categories.
